Kevin Gameiro acts as football teacher in his spare time
Kevin Gameiro is a player who gives lessons in football both on and off the pitch. A winner of multiple trophies -including last year’s Copa del Rey, in which he scored the opening goal in the final against FC Barcelona- he is also a voice of experience for his two children. Sons Aaron and Ayden are both VCF Academy players.
Like their father, the two boys had their training programme interrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak. One of the first measures taken by Valencia CF was to suspend training indefinitely, to protect the members of the VCF Academy.
Nevertheless, the coaches sent a list of exercises for the children to practice at home, to keep them sharp for their return. Every day, Kevin Gameiro has accompanied his two children as they train their skills and coordination. The focus for Ayden, the younger of the two, is on simply having fun. Things are slightly more serious for the older Aaron, who is part of the Alevin Fundación team.
It is nearly 11 years since Gameiro first dedicated a goal to the then-newborn Aaron, when laying for LOSC Lille. Now both he and his brother are hooked on football, with the help of their famous father.
